Lost a button and not sure what to do? Or maybe you want to swap something plain for something with personality? In this workshop, you’ll learn essential button techniques, from functional repairs to playful upgrades, so you never have to retire a beloved piece again. Bring your own garment that needs a button update or you can practive your technique on provided swatches. Buttons and basic sewing supplies will be provided.
Patches are one of the easiets ways to personalize and preserve your garments. We’ll cover iron-on vs. sew-on methods, when to use each, and how to apply them so they actually last. Leave with a new skill and a newly refreshed piece. Bring your own garment that needs patching or shop from from Surseen’s $5 bin to create a new unique piece! Patches and basic sewing supplies will be provided.
This one is for the garments that just need a little magic. We’ll explore hand embroidery basics and how to use them to cover a small imperfection, add character, or simply make something you love, even more lovable. Bring your own garment you want to update or practice on provided swatches. Embroidery hoops, thread, and needles will be supplied.
